Turning 20

It was my birthday the weekend just gone but with me celebrating it in Paris, I decided to host a small gathering at my house a few days before. The plan was that we would have a BBQ and then go for cocktails, however the weather in England isn't reliable so I hosted an indoor picnic instead. Never too old right? Everyone who attended contributed to the picnic display and it was the best idea ever, then after nibbling for several hours we went for cocktails. It was the perfect early birthday celebration. x

Today I headed to the Metrocentre (Gateshead) with the intention of treating myself - an early birthday present/celebration for my hard work over the past year. I had several things in mind but it was Zara that stole my heart. It's got some amazing things in at the moment, i'm particularly in love with the "fish print dress" if anybody is feeling generous. I just don't have an occasion to wear it currently. I did however treat myself to a peplum studded top and oversized bag. x

Heaton Perk

I spent my Sunday afternoon at a small, cutesy cafe in Heaton with uni friends. It was the first time I had been and i'm annoyed I waited so long to go because it was lovely. There was books and boardgames everywhere, which proved several hours of entertainment. If your in the area, I would definitely recommend. x

P.s It's officially the May - the countdown to my birthday has begun.

Goodbye Second Year...

Images from my final projects

I cannot believe i'm saying this but I have officially finished my second year at university. I've handed in all my projects and i'm currently in limbo - between panicking about third year and turning 20. Next week I turn 20 and i'm heading to Paris with the boyfriend. Over the past week i've had some very exciting news - showing that hard work and persistance pays off. I will reveal all soon yet I don't want to jinx it! As of next week its all GO! GO! GO! My diary is booked up until beginning of August and I cannot wait, I will try include you all along my journey with an online diary when I find time. x

London

Time has literally flown by over these past few months, I apologise for not blogging; i've had other priorities and I honestly haven't done anything worth blogging about. So now we've got that sorted...

Several days ago, I went on a short break with the family down to London and it was just what I needed. I'm coming to the end of my second year now and its deadline dates which means i'm pretty stressed out but I left my laptop at home and didn't think about work for 3 whole days, it was wonderful.

I took so many photos, so here's several montages to give you an overall idea about my trip.

Grazia & Vanilla Latte for the journey // Damien Hirst & Boetti Exhibition // Favourite Damien Hirst piece // Favourite Boetti piece // Evening walk along the Thames // Starbucks break from shopping // Lola's Red Velvet Cupcake // Outfit for the day // Marc by Marc Jacobs Mac Case.

Outfit for the Theatre // Matilda at the Theatre // Merchandise - loved the layout // Stage set // My new favourite trousers - Zara // Olympic Countdown // Treats from the M&M store // Living a childhood dream - platform 9 & 3/4s // New Kings Cross Architecture.

London is definitely the city that stole my heart, I still have the "London Buzz" and I don't see it disappearing anytime soon. Any excuse to escape to London and I jump at the chance.

Now it's back to university work... but I promise to blog more! I am pretty much addicted to twitter so to keep up to date with what i'm up to follow me @JesDing

Phoebe English A/W 2012

Phoebe English is one of my favourite up and coming designers, I feel that she really has the talent to be big so getting to see her in the early stages of her career is amazing. Above is a short video I captured whilst working on her show last week at LFW. The inspiration from her collection came from how different materials react against each other. The collection itself was mainly black yet the outburst of pink towards the end was definitely a well appreciated surprise. As this years Merit Award Winner there was alot of pressure upon English, but yet again she didn't fail to impress. Watch this space. x

Been & Gone...

So approximately 10 days ago I promised I would regularly update my blog about LFW, street style and everything i'd been up to. Fashion Week is over and I failed (yet again) to update you all. Apologies. I became far too wrapped up in LFW and London itself. I met some amazing people over the week, worked on amazing shows and was in the same room as David Gandy, Amir Kahn & Kate Moss just to name a few. Over the weekend I plan to catch up on sleep, blogs and uni work. I will update my blog with all information from the week and images as soon as possible. Until then follow me on twitter @JesDing for regular updates! x
